What hackers see

The challenge form has many operator-only fields. Only some of them appear on the hacker-facing challenge page. This helps you focus your effort on the fields that matter to participants.

Shown to hackers​

  • Name
  • Short description and Description (rendered from your rich text)
  • Tags
  • Background image
  • Prize and sponsor context (via the linked sponsorship)
  • The submission form and, if set, the external submission URL and survey link
  • Total submissions so far, and — for the signed-in hacker — their own submission status and whether they've bookmarked it

Operator-only (not shown to hackers)​

These are used internally and don't appear on the challenge page:

  • Type (Overall / Event / League / Short Form / Third Party)
  • Accent color
  • Estimated completion time
  • Position
  • Scheduled activation (go-live time)
  • Backup challenge
  • The GHW flags (Is this Address Challenge?, Is this a Main GHW Event Check-in Challenge?)
