Who can access Avo
Avo is used by several MLH teams, and access is controlled by which team you belong to. Understanding this helps explain why you may see fewer resources than a teammate on a different team.
Access levels
- Full-access teams — the Engineering, League, Events, and Operations teams have unrestricted read access across the dashboard.
- Restricted teams — the HackDays team only sees the resources it has been explicitly granted. It does not get read access to everything by default.
- Admins — an admin who is only on restricted teams sees just the resources those teams are allowed. An admin on a full-access team (or on no team at all) is not restricted.
Who can do what
Access is set per resource. As a general guide:
- Programs can be created and edited by the Engineering, League, and Events teams.
- Challenges are visible to all admin teams (including HackDays). They can be created and edited by the Engineering, Events, and HackDays teams. Deleting a challenge is limited to the Engineering and Events teams.
- MLH sponsorships are visible to admins and the HackDays team, and can be created and edited by the Engineering, Events, and HackDays teams.
If you cannot see or edit something you expect to, it is usually a team-access difference rather than a bug — check with your team lead about which team you are assigned to.
