Promo codes
Promo codes are grouped into pools owned by a sponsorship. A pool contains
codes, and each time a member uses a code it creates a redemption. Manage
them under https://core.mlhtools.com/resources/ (/promo_code_pools,
/promo_codes, /promo_code_redemptions).
Promo code pools
A promo code pool groups codes and defines how they are distributed and redeemed.
- Label: the pool's identifier.
- MLH sponsorship: the sponsor the pool belongs to.
- Event: lock the pool to a specific event, or leave blank to make it event-agnostic. Event-agnostic pools can be claimed at any event the sponsor is part of.
- Code type: individualized (each user gets a distinct code) or shared (one code is redeemed by many users).
- Access type: automatic (surfaced via EYNTK / pool flows) or manual (issued one-off via the Coach portal or Avo).
- Distribution channels: where the pool is surfaced. Allowed values:
eyntk,prizes_page,print,partner_portal,reengagement_email. - Description and Restrictions.
- Redemption URL: the default redemption URL for codes in this pool. Individual codes can override it.
- Per-user limit: lifetime cap on redemptions per user across all events (blank = unlimited). A per-event cap of 1 is always enforced regardless.
- Link expiration days: days after the event's end before claim links stop working (blank = links never expire).
- Active and Expires at: after the expiry timestamp the pool is treated as inactive and claims are rejected (blank = never expires).
The Issue claim link action issues a claim link for the pool.
Promo codes
A promo code is one code within a pool.
- Code: the unique code.
- Promo code pool: the pool it belongs to.
- Active: whether the code is active (a code past its expiry is treated as inactive regardless of this flag).
- Redemption limit: the maximum number of redemptions (blank or -1 means unlimited).
- Redemption URL: optional — overrides the pool default for this code only.
- Expires at: when the code expires.
Promo code redemptions
A promo code redemption records that a user used a code.
- Promo code, User, and Event: which code was redeemed, by whom, and where.
- Redeemed at: when it was redeemed.
A user can redeem a given code only once.
