Series, notices, and Discord

A few more operator resources that don't belong to a single lifecycle. Find them under https://core.mlhtools.com/resources/ (/series, /banner_notices, /discord_roles).

Series

A series groups related events (for example, a recurring hackathon or program).

  • Name and Slug.
  • Starts at / Ends at.
  • Website URL and Chat URL.
  • Program: the program the series belongs to.
  • Logo.
  • Links to its events, displayed events, and applications.

A banner notice shows a site-wide message for a period of time.

  • Message: a single line of text. Links, bold, and italics are allowed; all other styles are stripped.
  • Type: error, warning, info (default), or success.
  • Starts at / Ends at: when the notice is shown.
  • Target pages: use full URLs without the protocol. A notice appears on any page that starts with the provided URL — for example, www.example.com matches www.example.com, www.example.com/page, and www.example.com/page/subpage.

Discord roles and entitlements

A Discord role represents a role members can be granted:

  • Name, Role ID, and Initial (whether it is granted by default).
  • The Trigger Discord roles sync action syncs roles.

An entitlement grants a Discord role to a user:

  • User and Grant target (the Discord role).
  • Status and Reason.
  • If a grant fails, the Retry action re-attempts the Discord role assignment.
